Menori.com has been getting a lot of traffic from people looking for Blackle, Toby Heap’s black skin on Google’s search engine. Infact Kelly from Canada commented that she had changed her homepage to Blackle and was wondering what had happened.
Blackle has recently disappeared. Visiting the URL just results in an Apache server 403 ‘Forbidden’ error. I’ve dropped Toby and email asking him what’s gone on. Hopefully Google haven’t shut him down. Or perhaps he’s getting so much traffic he’s had to lock the site down because his hosting bandwidth is all being eaten up. I’ll be sure to let you know if he gets back to me.

Hi Gary, it’s Toby here. I tried to reply to your email but it bounced.
I’ve put a post about what’s going on with Blackle on my blog (tobyheap.com) but basically our servers have crashed due to the surge in traffic we have received in the last few days. We are working to fix this ASAP.

Well a black background on a Google search it is. But the ‘Blackle’ I refer to was specifically targetted at the concept of energy saving rather than just being ‘black’.
In much the same veign as Searchincolor is ninja.com.
Good news
I hope everybody read this article.
Thank you for infos.
I prefer using http://www.Darkoogle.com as their text are green which reduce eye strain. So instead of saving energy from our monitor, it also save our user’s eye energy.
