Today I received this email from a colleague:
Simple but effective, Offsetmylife is a new site which allows people to carbon-offset any activity in their life, based upon a database of existing activities as well as the ability to create new ones.
This service is currently in test in the USA.
What a fantastic concept.
So when I chose the ‘offset my mac’ option I selected ‘3′ because I use my mac on average 3 hours a day. Offset my life goes off and calculates the envionmental impact of my 3 hours a day mac usage and came back with:

3 Trees
300 sq. ft. of Land
15.2391 lbs. of CO2
Costs for offset per year
$210.61 Annual billing
$21.05 Monthly billing/month
