MSN have run an article on films that make men cry. It seems that there are times, and movies, that are ok for a man to cry at and not be ridiculed by his mates. Of the twenty films in the list I must say that I did cry at the end of The Shawshank Redemption (quite possibly my favourite film of my adult life) when Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman meet again on the beach. I also cried at the end of Gladiator. Not sure why, but it was quite moving. Although I have seen most of the other movies I don’t remember blubbing at any point during them.
I did also cried laughing once at Stir Crazy. “I’ll wash your socks” has become part of the standard vocabulary in my circle of friends.
