Cracked.com have kindly pointed out that there are key lessons to be learned from 80’s cartoons. Their synopsis is, in my opinion, way off. Here’s my take on it.
CARTOON: The SmurfsLESSON: Being blue is crap.I didn’t watch it and can’t comment. Although my friend’s Dad used to work at a petrol station and did [...]

Hmm. Having looked at Maryam Scoble’s blog I decided to take the nerd test. Now normally I get ‘fairly nerdy’ in these sort of tests because they involve being able to count, having once taken part in a roleplaying game, knowing that Han shot first or once watched Urotsokidoji.
I’m a bit concerned though that I got [...]

Menori.com is now blocked by the enterprise web security product Websense. I’m not sure whether I’m flattered or not, but menori now comes under the category of games. Clearly my relentless posts about gaming on the Xbox 360, streaming Divx to the Xbox 360 and other general tidbits have had be categorised as being ‘bad’ [...]

And so on this day of Wednesday 20th September in the year 2006 that I get the keys to my own home. Yes after about 3 months of to-ing and fro-ing I now have the keys to my own apartment; apartment number 8.
I’m quite excited about this and I sat on the floor of the [...]

A somewhat depleted Portsmouth team beat Mansfield 2-1 at Field Mill last night. Note that Portsmouth are top of the Premiership and although they rested some of their ’stars’ Mansfield looked to have put up a decent performance. Yes, the report on Sky Sports News does elude to the Stags resorting to long balls into the box [...]

Well the Menori logo contest on bix has closed. The public voted in Elidet as the winner. I noticed that Dan’s entry never actually made it onto the bix site. Hmm.. then again Dan did answer an email I sent him yesterday with a particulaly good answer so I’ll let him off.
Everyone is a winner though. [...]

Ooh. Now this is pretty. Microsoft Max is pretty much the first application I’ve seen that uses Windows Presentation Foundation. Apart from some of the effects in Vista (which I’m no longer running) I was keen to see what imaginative interface ideas Microsoft would come up with start tapping into all that GPU power.
Well Max, [...]

Scootville has now been added to the blogroll. Although Scootville contains none of the beautiful people of Smallville it’s still a very shiny place run by Scott Bytheway, West Bromich Albion fan and C# coder. Scott has also produced some decent house mixes which can be found on his podcast. iTunes link here.

No, nothing to do with Star Trek. Shirebrook Town FCÂ (check out the website, it’s.. er.. well, see for yourself) were thoroughly hammered by Romulus FC on Saturday 6 - 0 in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup (sponsored by E.ON.. he he). Romulus are currently second in the Midland Alliance League behind Leamington [...]

Lycos (yes, remember them?) have got a good article about the recent Atlantis Shuttle mission which has added a new section to the International Space Station. It seems all went well apart from a spring, a bolt and washer flying off into space. Lets hope NASA never have to assemble an IKEA add-on to the [...]
