Since upgrading the firmware on my 5G iPod I’ve noticed (only twice) a stutter when playing some tracks that were imported from CD. I’ve also noticed that a few visitors to menori.com have found the site by searching for ‘ipod stutter’ on Google so this appears to be a widespread issue. I was scpetical that this was a problem in the latest firmware too until discovering it myself while listening to Simmons and Christopher’s ‘The Weekend’ which is the last track on CD 2 of ES VIVE IBIZA 2006. This I’ve only noticed on the iPod itself and not when playing the tracks on iTunes. I’m going to continue to listen to these tracks and see if the stutter is more prevalanet. It’s only happened twice, as I mentioned, in some 50 or so tracks listened to. That is still more frequent than has happened before though - mostly because it’s never happened before.
I’m going to drop an email to Apple to find out whether this is a known bug.
