Charles at Channel 9 has highlighted that the Windows Live Writer blog appears to have disappeared from Google searches - most notably when searching for ‘Windows live writer’.
He’s right ofcourse. After Live Writer was launched the Writer Zone quickly became the top search item. But now it isn’t there. Infact it’s been relegated to something around page 14 now (still some way infront of my original posting about Live Writer which was knocked off the top of the search terms when everyone started posting about the blogging tool).
There’s speculation that this is a deliberate measure by Google. Clearly Live Writer is a competitor to Writely and has been gaining a healthy following and achieving some very positive reviews.

When I can run Live Writer on my Mac, or access all of my Live Writer documents from any internet connected machine, I’ll consider it a competitor to Writely.
Until then, it’s just another Windows based desktop blogging tool - albeit one that’s getting some good press.
You’re living the dream Dan. I regard WLW as a competitor to Writely in the same way as Google Spreadsheet is a competitor to Excel.
Hopefully WLW wont end up dead…

Ah, I see: So they’re trying to appeal to the Goth demographic now then?
