Windows Live Writer

I got some strange news today when talking to someone about Windows Live services, Microsoft’s Dynamic Systems Initiative and good stuff like .NET. Not sure if there’s any truth in it, but he said that Microsoft had just announced ‘Windows Live Writer’, which he described a a simple online wordprocessor.
Well I’m at a loss if [...]

Is the Web turning into a Mac?

Is it me or do a lot of websites these day bear a great resemblence to Mac OSX? Application boxes with beveled edges, lots of light shading, aqua style buttons and crystal effects on almost everything.
In today’s line up I give you the new Yahoo!, ZapZap, the pinstripe PageFlakes.
As the desktop and web continue to [...]

Swell… Superman Returns

What a tremendous film. For sheer feel good factor (which I assume that this was trying to achieve) Superman Returns is spot on. Brandon Routh takes the role brilliantly I feel. He even sounds like Christopher Reeve in some parts, especially as Clark Kent. A fitting tribute, I think.
So the action is lacking, but the [...]

Oblivion - a Champion shares his experiences (part two)

[This is part two in a series of postings about my experiences of playing Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion]
“There’s something out there,” The guard turned to Hadaster who had drawn his sword Goldbrand. A look of anguisg came over the guard’s face. “I’ll go first”, the Monk said and stepped off the platform on which stood [...]

My Chuck Norris fact…

Chuck Norris was defeated by Bruce Lee in ‘Way of the Dragon’. It should be noted, however, that this was a ’sans beard’ Chuck Norris. ‘Nuff said.
I’ve submitted this to Chuck Norris Facts. Fingers crossed that they like it.
Thanks to Dan at istherefood.com for getting the film right.
I’ve actually bought his Beardness’ biography “Against All [...]

Did you use protection?

Protection is good. There are times, however, when protection can take away the stimulus leaving you with an overall flacid experience.
What am I talking about? Trend Anti-Virus on Windows Vista, ofcourse! Since installing the beta of Trend’s PC-Cillin suite on my Vista Beta 2 PC the whole experience has become, frankly unusable. Explorer.exe eats about [...]

English public enemy number one…

It didn’t take long for a site to appear.
Now England fans alike can have a single place to visit to get the lowdown on their ‘favourite’ Portugese winger.

Menori asks.. Yahoo! Answers…

I posted my question to Yahoo! Answers recently….
“What will it take for England to win a penalty shootout?”
I’ll choose the best answer sometime tomorrow. Particularly liked the ‘larger nets and smaller goalie’ idea.
In answer to my own question I think it’s bottle. ‘Get it on target’ appeared to be the plan, but with no reckoning [...]

England 0 - 0 Portugal (Portugal win on penalties AET)

England are out of the World Cup. On paper (and indeed in their respective club teams) the England team are excellent. Frank Lampard is widely recognised as one the best midfielders in the world. So is Steven Gerrard. David Beckham probably the best crosser of a ball. It’s been said that England have the best [...]
