Microsoft top brand in the UK

Gartner have published an article relating to brand awareness and that consumer IT leads the way. Microsoft come top of a list of 400 companies from roughly 2,500 people surveyed in the UK.

Microsoft’s impact in the home PC, games console and mobile phone space appears to be paying off with consumers. More interestingly though is the influence that consumerisation is having on decisions that business make about it’s IT. How many office workers now really need much training in Windows and MS Office as a result of using it at home?

It’s interesting that Microsoft have this position in people’s minds. Typically it’s advertising campaigns are weak when compared to the style of IBM and Apple. But, clearly they’re doing something right.
