Windows Live has changed again. Or rather the search funcitonality has changed slightly. Gone is is the strange slidy scrollbar (which I’d just started to get used to) and now we have a more traditional scrollbar but one that loads content into the browser window by means of some sort of postback. This makes for a rather annoying jumping effect when the new search results load into the window.
I must admit the thought of doing away with paging search results does appeal to me, although Microsoft’s execution at the moment still needs some polishing. And when will there be a Live gadget for the Live favourites? They’re far too disjointed at the moment. Netvibes will continue to honour it’s place as my Web 2.0 portal of choice until such things have been sorted out.
Anyway… what is the secret? and why can’t people in Australia and New Zealand know what it is?

I see that you are interested in Web 2.0 services and personalized start pages. Have you tried http://www.pageflakes.com already? It’s a similar service but offers additional features such as multiple pages and a larger number of modules and feeds.

Ole.
Yes indeed I’ve signed up for page flakes and I must say I’m very impressed! You’ve got a splendid UI (very Mac-esque) although I think that it could be a bit faster at loading - something Live.com suffers from as well. Very neatly done and a great example of the UI capability of AJAX/ATLAS.
Hi Gary - thanks for the feedback. We are definately working on the loading time issue. You have a fair point there.
Cheers
