Well well..
Bethesda have done themselves proud once again with “Oblivion”. I this game doesn’t win countless game of the year awards then I don’t know what will. It’s quite literally.. stunning.
Throughout my gaming life several titles have really impressed me. Oblivion is the next in a long line of games like Elite, Staff of Karanth, The Last Ninja, Shadow of the Beast, Speedball 2, X-Wing, Neverwinter Nights, Halo, Morrowind..
I took my Dunmer Monk through the initial perils of the Imperial Dungeon. When you step out the dungeon and see the outside world for the first time it was almost as impressive as when I saw Lupo Jr. for the first time. The sky!! The stars!! Fantastic.
And it’s immediately more immersive than Morrowind was. You actually feel like you’re hitting something this time. And in the initial few hours of play (got all the way to the Priory in my first session and got my own horse!) I was thoroughly impressed. Crikey, even the horse is hard to ride! I haven’t even seen anything yet in the game, but the scenery is gorgeous. Tremendous stuff.
