Netvibes: the French redeem themselves

In my quest to find my next homepage (currently pwned by live.com) I stumbled upon Netvibes.

Now having an account for “everything” Netvibes proves to be a wee bit more useful than live.com. It reminds me quite a lot of where live.com evolved from, namely start.com. Adding feed content comes from a left hand sidebar. However, the raft of content that Netvibes has is quite impressive. Writely document viewer, folders displayed from box.net (all 1GB of free goodness), your deli.cio.us links, Gmail inbox, etc. Quite pretty too (fine use of Ajax), and works nicely across both IE and Safari (which strangely is becoming my browser of choice on the Mac again).

So Netvibes gets a thumbs up for now. And considering the development team is French (in my current state of anti-Frenchness) that’s pretty good. Tres Bon.
