Pack up your troubles….

Google fascinate me, as they do many people I think. What they do tends to have some major bearing on the direction of the Web, computing and even social life.

So with the introduction of Google Pack it seems that Google are giving us the opportunity to download a Google view of what should be on your PC. I’m sure if they had a micro operating system then they’d probably have you download that too. Makes a lot of sense what they’ve put together, it’s obviously what Google feel is deficient in a standard Windows build these days. And if Google continue to deliver great apps via the web (I’m even more impressed with Gmail these days since the ‘Web Clip’ feature was introduced) well I’m sure they’ll have commans of that area too.

Not to say that M$ aren’t going to lie down and let it all happen. Windows Live Mail continues to impress me throughout Beta (a recent survey that I took eluded to the fact that everyone wouls soon have @live.com account that currently has a @hotmail.com account and asked if RSS feeds were important to my llife) and I will soon know what Office Live is all about having been accepted into that Beta too which starts soon’ish’.

Ah.. and finally have a fantastic 2006!

It always very interesting to see who each of the big players partner with. Microsoft claim to be putting together a direct competitor to Acrobat so therefore wouldn’t need to bundle that. Neither Google nor Microsoft have an AV product to speak of so generally need to partner there too.
