At the weekend I noticed an invite to Windows Live mail buried in my Hotmail account. It’s taken about a month to come through. So now everytime I log in to Hotmail I get taken to my Live mail account.
First impressions are that it’s very much centred around how Outlook Web Access 2003 works. Functions on the left, a mail list in the next pane and a preview in the pane on the left. The preview pane allows graphics to be blocked until requested and emails are manually added to a list of trusted senders. The address book has come across ok and all seems to be in order. It’s still far from finished and the interface is extremely minimalist. Do you like white? Good because that’s pretty much all you’ve got to choose from.
There’s a feedback mechanism for the Beta program so no doubt I’ll be rabbiting on about it to MS themselves.
Here are some of the features.

Do you get invites?
I’ve delved into the depths of the interface but cannot find any invite feature like gmail has. I signed up via http://www2.imagine-msn.com/minisites/mail/Default.aspx?locale=en-us
