Galaxies goodness

I must admit I’m a wee bit surprised as my enthusiasm again for Star Wars Galaxies. Having completely respec’d my character (a one of process for veteran players that allows you to reallocate all of your skills) Aishla is now a Master Pistoleer / Master Combat Medic. What a change it has made. I had read that the ranged professions had been ‘balanced’ with the melee professions and it seems to be the case. As a TKA / Swordsman I must admit I was feeble in the post-combat upgrade world. Now my pistoleer can blast creatures from a distance, stunning them and stopping them in their tracks only for me to blast them some more.

I spent a huge wadge of credits on a decent blaster and now I can atlast fight thing by myself. The medical skills mean that I don’t die instantly when the beasties get within striking range. [although I did get whacked by a big rancor that was level 140 something and it did 65,000 damage to me - I've got 3000 hit points by the way)].

The Chimaera-Europe server was down last week (before I got back into it) and as a result it’s double xp all week. Excellent. One more branch to unlock in the Force Sensitive trees until I can do the final test… and then Aishla could become a Jedi.

Ah those were heady days…. You, me and Alium Panis heading out into the wilds to go Sharnaff hunting (well you were hunting, I was trying to stab them with a needle without them noticing from what I remember!!). I might have to give SWG a go again I think. I did always find it frustrating that characters based around ranged skills seemed to be less powerful but if it’s a case of balance now then I might give it a go, especially as it won’t cost me any extra on my Station Access account!!

Definitely.. I need someone to stomp around with and you should be able to respec your character as soon as you log in. Plus you’ll qualify for all manner of veteran rewards (which people are paying millions for. Kept all mine though as I’m not short of a bob or two). If you do decide to give it a go let me know.
