Glad to know that Dan found Writely after checking out my blog. He’s dead ‘write’, the timestamp is way off and I’ll put this into some feedback for the Writely dudes and dudettes.

 

It’s a good point Dan makes about using Wiritely to post to a blog. I just find the edit interface that blogger provide to be somewhat lacking still. I suppose if you were working on a blog with multiple people then you could use Writely to collaborate with those folks on the postings before putting them up. Kind of author / editor roles. Such concepts are very familiar to people who use corporate document collaboration tools such as Microsoft’s Sharepoint and EMC’s Documentum.

 

I think there’s a shiny future for Writely and it is a fab demonstration of AJAX and it’s capabilities. The good thing is that they haven’t overdone it with auto-completing this and that which most of the basic demonstrations of the technology do. What is great is that Writely still adheres to the age old web page lore of loading in a very quick, very reponsive time space.
